Ashlyn turns TWO!

I know this is a bit late coming, but I finally found some time to get some pictures uploaded. On June 3rd, Ashlyn turned TWO years old! I can't believe I have a two-year-old. In a way it seems like she was just born, but in another I feel like she has always been here. I told Justin that she's not a baby anymore and that I should stop calling her "the baby," but sweet Justin just said, "she's YOUR baby, so it's okay." *Sigh*

We didn't have a crazy birthday party for her or anything, but we had a good day. Ashlyn woke up to a new toy that mom assembled the night before (I can't wait till Christmas!).

A water table...um...without water

We got her a water table. It's just a table...that can hold water...so they can stand and splash and play. So far she loves it. And mom loves it because it's entertainment that lasts quite a while. It's been fun putting it on our back patio and sitting outside with her on warm days.

Next Ashlyn helped me make some birthday cupcakes:

After opening and playing with some presents from Grandmas, we went outside and put some water in the water table. She didn't even wait to get her new swimsuit on.

"I'm so excited!!"

At times she couldn't decide which toy to play with...so she played with both

She eventually got worn out with all her new toys and wanted to relax on the couch until naptime

After naptime she woke up to her OTHER toy from mom and dad. MOM couldn't decide which one to get her, so we got both:

 She LOVES this desk, and often asks to come upstairs to sit at it. Although, the increased interest in drawing with her markers often results in hands that look like this:

After some dinner she helped me frost her cupcakes, with three different colors to choose from:

She did eventually get some frosting on the cupcake...she did...

 
And then we got a candle and tried to get a good picture of Ashlyn blowing it out. She knew exactly what she was supposed to do. How? I don't know. But she blew her candle out before we were even able to sing or take a picture. So we lit it again, and she did it again. We had to be fast, and we ended up lighting her candle and letting her blow it out about 15 times. (Does that mean she's 15 now?)

So overall I think this little peach had a good time. She loved opening all the presents from Grandma Woodworth and Grandma Tolman. She played with all the toys from Grandma Woodworth between trips out to the water table, and loved playing dress-up with the jewelry from Grandma Tolman. She was kept busy the whole day, and went to bed like an angel. It was a fun day to celebrate how much she has grown. It was a good day, for this Mama and her Baby.
